Three killed as building collapses in Karachi





KARACHI: At least three people were killed and several others injured when a building collapsed in the vicinity of Golimar, Karachi on Thursday. Two other buildings were also affected due to the incident. 

According to rescue sources, three bodies were recovered while 13 wounded were taken out from under the rubble.

Those deceased also included a woman, said rescue sources. Those wounded were shifted to a nearby medical facility.

Army and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s team also reached the site of incident to aid the rescue operations.
According to police, three buildings collapsed in the area, with one of them being completely destroyed, while major part of the other two buildings was razed to the ground.

Police said that the fourth building near the three collapsed buildings was also declared unsafe.
Following the incident, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah directed deputy Commissioner Karachi to reach the site, according to CM Sindh’s spokesman.

The CM Sindh also summoned a report related to the building’s construction and today’s rescue operation.
