What are Viruses???

Viruses: A Virus is a biological agent that reproduces inside the cells of living hosts. They are smaller than bacteria and cannot be observed with an ordinary microscope. Viruses can infect all types of life forms, from animals and plants to microorganisms, including bacteria and archaea.

Question: Why viruses are classified as non-living things?

Answer: Viruses are not classified as living things because they cannot reproduce by themselves. They can only reproduce by invading or taking over the cells of living organisms. They are not made out of cells, they cannot keep themselves in a stable state, they do not grow.
Even though they definitely replicate and adapt to their environment, that is why viruses are not classified as living things.
